"God lives in shopping malls as well as churches!" Got to hand it to those Liverpoolians; they're gutsy champions of the faith.
(Liverpool, England)—Inspire Magazine reports that Christians from a Liverpool church group called "Dream" recently staged what is referred to as a flash-mob worship event at a new shopping center in the area.
According to the report, group members claimed the mall as holy ground with a symbolic act of worship.
Said one member of Dream: "We held our first 'Guerilla Worship' gathering." After scattering about the shoppers, he said, "at the signal, we all stopped and took off our shoes...an ancient sign that this is 'holy ground'...We then made our way to the park at the centre of the mall where we sat together to form a cross...and prayed silently for a few minutes."
Praying for the unemployed and the current economic situation was just one of the many things the group prayed for. Ultimately, they prayed simply for hope.
